The city is 16 km from Petranima and is characterized by its historic center with a circular plan, consisting of the “cummerse”, typical pitched roof houses. Walking through the narrow streets is easy to be enchanted by its fairy-tale atmosphere and out of time. To emphasize the “promenade”, the extraordinary panoramic terrace overlooking the entire Itria Valley. By the way… Would you like an aperitif right on that panoramic terrace?! Read on then and discover our proposals!
Gastronomy
As often happens in the Apulian villages, the kitchen is the mirror of the soul! Among the typical dishes that you can taste in this village you will find the famous tripe rolls, the ‘’gnumeredde suffuchete” and the meat on the stove. The real dish of the typical peasant cuisine is, however, the ‘’cialledde”: a dish that has a winter variant and a fresh and summer (the original), which consists of drowning the bread in water seasoned with olive oil, oregano, salt, salad tomatoes.
Art & Culture
The beautiful town has been home for several years to some of the most famous national festivals characterized by an increasingly varied musical offer. On the “promenade” it is possible to attend meeting places and conviviality in which to sip a cocktail or a glass of wine in company.
Not to mention Christmas… a show of lights and themed decorations fills the streets of the village, which turns into a real ‘Santa Claus’ Village’, where you can sip hot Vin Brulé!
